During the week, a stranger paid me a compliment, and it stopped me for a moment. Then it happened again — same day, another stranger, another compliment. I could feel my energy changing from these two small, but meaningful moments.
Complimenting strangers is something I try to do whenever I can — it might be a cashier, a barista, someone at a drive-through, or in any number of places and situations. I love noticing something about them and letting them know. You never know what kind of day someone’s having, and a few kind words can make the moment feel a little lighter. It usually brings a smile to their face, a sense of connection, and sometimes leads to a deeper conversation.
That day, it came back to me twofold, and it reminded me of how good it feels to be seen. Maybe that’s karma in its simplest form — the kindness you give eventually finds its way back.
It feels good to give, and it feels good to receive. Both remind me that we’re all just looking for a little light in our day.

I’m grateful for the reminder that kindness can, and does, find its way back. ~RH~
